Green Street launch

A few neighbours on Digby Crescent have got together to start a Green Street project. Our project has two aims:

1
Improve the energy efficiency in our homes to reduce pollution and become less reliant on gas and electricity

2
Collaborate as a street, to learn from others, and save money!

The flats on our street make it difficult to install individual renewable technologies, which is why we are launching a street-wide project. Together, we can develop templates to improve our homes, access cooperative purchasing of items such as insulation or renewable heating units.

How did Digby Crescent green street start?

The project has been started by long-term neighbours in Digby Crescent, Hen Cooke and Mary Rawlinson who work in the energy and environmental sectors.

“We would like to make our homes on Digby Crescent more resilient, ‘green’ and reduce the cost of living. Taking a ‘whole building’ or even ‘whole street’ approach could benefit all who live here, increasing access to sustainability experts, cost effective supplies and installations. “
